Niranjan Sarpangala

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Eleni Katifori at the University of Pennsylvania. I work on modeling complex physical systems ranging from cellular scale to macroscopic 3d printed structures. My PhD thesis, with Prof. Ajay Gopinathan focused on understanding multi-motor transport by teams of kinesin motors and strategies to improve cooperativity between motors.

I consider myself more of a computational experimentalist. My work focuses on developing physically grounded models of real-world systems to uncover scientific insights that are often difficult to obtain through laboratory experiments or analytical theory alone.

Please find some of my works shared as open-source software. I am passionate about open-source softwares in general. This help in accelerating the time taken by research community in addressing scientific questions.
